INDUSTRY-LEADING EXPERIENCE
We have set the standard for forensic inspection and documentation of wind, hail, flood, tornado, hurricane, and structural losses. Now, our team offers nearly all inspections services, including mechanical, electrical, components, and small fire.
HIGHEST LEVEL ACCURACY DIRECT INSPECTIONS
Our engineers directly inspect all components of every inspection without third-party assistance.
INDUSTRY-LEADING TURNAROUND
Our systems enable each engineer to perform more inspections, with a faster turn-around, without ever compromising on accuracy or customer service.
MULTI-DISCIPLINE EXPERTISE
Not only do our engineers come from diverse backgrounds, we cross-train to ensure we have a full understanding of all engineering aspects for every loss. When additional experts are needed for a particular aspect of an evaluation, our team has the resources to provide whatever is needed.
TOTAL TRANSPARENCY UP FRONT
We are committed to 100% transparency. While we cannot disclose findings to a non-client prior to our initial report, we will gladly discuss the engineering principles behind every evaluation. Nothing is hidden.
NATURAL AND MANIPULATED DAMAGES EXPERTS
Unfortunately, some losses are caused intentionally. Our engineers have been called on for the last 12 years not only to determine when damages cannot be caused naturally, but also to provide the most advanced training for claims adjusters and attorneys throughout the industry to differentiate intentional damages.
Industry-Recognized Insurance Claims Expertise
Weather Reporting Built To Withstand Scrutiny.
Forensic-grade hail and severe weather analysis for insurance claims backed by named, reproducible government datasets anda methodology transparent enough for any deposition.

BUILT FOR THE DEPOSITION ROOM
Every SWI report is built on named, publicly accessible government datasets with documented methodology. When opposing counsel asks how the number was derived, your expert has an answer.
5 INDEPENDENT DATA SOURCES
Storm Events, NEXRAD radar, ASOS stations, IEM reports, and SPC Discussions are cross-referenced with PE-verified empirical data — no single point of failure.
EMPIRICAL DATA INTEGRATION
SWI reports are produced by Trinity Engineering as part of the forensic process. The weather analysis and engineering findings arrive together from the same source.

Get Your Adjusters The Training They Need

DEVELOP YOUR TEAM'S EXPERTISE
We are available for regional meetings, Zoom webinars, or individual training sessions to advance your team's knowledge base around construction and property loss claims sources and investigations.
REPAIRABILITY
Social media videos abound of independent and field adjusters being confronted to determine whether asphalt shingles or other materials are "repairable" on site.
INTERPRETING INFRARED REPORTS
Experts, third-party inspections, and policyholder representatives often include IR photos in their reports to indicate "wet" walls and hidden damages. These photos can end up creating more questions than answers. We teach you to interpret these photos correctly, in context, and give you the right questions to ask, so you can get the answers you need.
PROPER USE OF DRONE TECHNOLOGY
Drones are an excellent tool, and AI technology allows for highlighting potential damages, but all too frequently, AI highlighted images noted as hail damage, are given to adjusters to say hail or wind damage has occurred without proper substantiation. On the claims inspections side, often drones are touted as the way to fully inspect without needing to physically access the roof and upper collateral items. Drone tech must be used properly, with added substantiation for the information to be relevant to adjust a loss.
INTENTIONAL MECHANICAL DAMAGES
US property insurance claims adjusting losses and expenses exceeds $600B annually. Any industry moving that much money will have some fraud involved. The most common instances in the roof claims sphere are intentionally damaging shingles to simulate wind or hail damages. Teach your adjusters to recognize the physical characteristics to red flag damages that cannot have occurred naturally.
Repairability
In the insurance restoration industry, the biggest fight on asphalt shingle roofs is almost always the same question: “Is this roof repairable, or does it require full replacement?”
Contractors push for full replacement to avoid wasting resources on low margin jobs, while adjusters write for small localized repairs that rarely extend beyond the direct physical damage, excluding damages that may be caused while attempting a repair — this often becomes contentious, emotional, and subjective argument without a clear, neutral solution.
The Trinity Repairability IndexMethod™ changes this completely.

Scott has inspected over 1000 residential and commercial roofs and performed advanced research into the materials, methods, and tools necessary for performing proper repairs. He is a certified trainer, a qualified national and founding researcher in the TRI Method™. Trinity's own standardized methodology for assessing repairability.
Leading The Industry

Leveraging Drone Technology
High-resolution aerial imaging and data capture provide safe, efficient access to difficult-to-reach structures and large-scale properties. Trinity Engineering utilizes FAA-certified drone operations to document storm damage, roof conditions, façade distress, and site-wide impacts with precision and repeatability.

Infrared Thermography
Advanced infrared thermography helps identify hidden moisture intrusion, thermal anomalies, air leakage pathways, and building envelope deficiencies without destructive testing. Our forensic approach combines thermal imaging with building science principles to support accurate diagnostics and defensible conclusions.

Research and Testing
Empirical testing and technical analysis support objective forensic evaluations and repairability assessments. Trinity Engineering leverages field data, material testing, and engineering-based methodologies to investigate failure mechanisms, storm impacts, and long-term performance concerns.
